We are a social movement built on inclusion, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. We are helping to make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place — one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time.

Loudoun County Special Olympics is one of the most successful athletic programs in Northern Virginia. Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that provides training and competition in various Olympic-style sports. Training is free to the athletes. The average cost to train an athlete is $175 per season and is paid for by the local committee, completely through fundraising and donations.

We have various sports by seasons, almost year round. Sports are available for a range of ages and skill levels.

Our Mission
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
