We have two athletes from the Potomac Region competing at the games.  Karen Dickerson, Special Olympics Virginia- Area 26 athlete has a video that was shown leading up to the games and also shown during Opening Ceremonies on Saturday. Here is a link to this amazing video in full to share.  Karen received a silver medal on Sunday in the ½ marathon with a finishing time of 00:44:53.42.

Luke Ferris, Special Olympics Virginia-Area 26 athlete will be competing in the 1500 open water swim, 800M Free, and 4 x 50 Free relay. Luke’s  preliminary swim for his open water swim event was yesterday.  The Patch ran a great article about Luke last week as well.
